Spillane Fire Protection is a family run business serving the Chicagoland and Northern Illinois areas. We are a proud member of the NFPA, and we are licensed in Illinois and Wisconsin.  We specialize in inspection and testing of fire sprinkler systems. We offer assurance to our customers that their fire protection system will be working properly when it is most needed. Our company also specializes in Backflow certification, Fire Hydrant Testing and Fire Pump Testing. We are partnered with local fire alarm and fire extinguisher companies, so with one call, we can do it all.

Our inspectors, which include off-duty Fire Fighters, are certified and trained to test your components to comply with local fire department regulations and insurance company guidelines.  We can provide you with peace of mind that your life and property are protected against fire by a properly functioning automatic fire protection sprinkler system.

Spillane Fire Protection was started by Patrick Spillane, who has over a decade of experience as a Fire Fighter and as an inspector for a private fire sprinkler engineering firm.  Patrick comes from a family of Fire Fighters. His grandfather, Richard Spillane, was a Chicago Fire Fighter who started in the fire service back in the 1940's.  Richard was one of the first Fire Fighters on the scene of the horrific 1958 “Our Lady of Angels School” fire, where 92 pupils and 3 nuns perished.

Patrick remembers a conversation with his grandfather regarding the unfortunate deaths that occurred at Our Lady of the Angels school. His granddad believed that the students and teachers could have been saved had there been fire sprinklers at the school. Fire sprinklers also help save the lives of Fire Fighters. Every year, over 100 Fire Fighters are killed in the line of duty.  Some of these deaths could likely be avoided if the properties involved had operational Fire Sprinkler Systems in place.

Spillane Fire Protection has inspected over 10,000 systems to date. Our goal is to ensure that the properly functioning Fire Sprinkler Systems of our clients will provide the first offensive attack against deadly fires. We are also committed to supporting community and outreach programs by donating to the IFSA Children’s Burn Camp, “I am Me.” Burn Camp offers young fire survivors the opportunity to share their common experiences. These brave kids are given the chance to play and enjoy camp in a supportive environment where they can forget about their injuries for a time.
